Clorinda (Diana’s Mom) passed away on the evening of Tuesday, April 8th. Diana and I were fortunate to be able to spend so much time with her over the last few months. This was the sunset view from her house that evening:

Clorinda Louise DiLonardo Campagna
October 24, 1931 – April 8, 2025

Long-time Pacifican and dedicated community member, Clorinda Louise DiLonardo Campagna, passed away peacefully in her home on April 8, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. Born on October 24, 1931, in Hackensack, New Jersey to Italian immigrants, Clorinda grew up with four sisters: Ludovica, Lena, Shirley, and Margie. Her father Michele Carlo DiLonardo was a cement finisher and a pillar of a diverse community, and her mother Constanza “Connie” Foschini worked in a munitions plant in Paterson, New Jersey during WWII.
Clorinda was gifted with an amazing singing voice and began singing at church and on the radio at the age of five. After moving to California in 1945, Clorinda attended Santa Clara High School and received a BA in both music and education from San Jose State University. Subsequently, Clorinda taught elementary school and sang lead soprano roles in operas and concerts in many locations around the country and globally, including San Francisco, New York, New Zealand and Switzerland. Throughout her career, Clorinda’s extraordinary voice and theatrical acumen were highly regarded around the world, and this legacy lives on especially through her grandchildren.

Clorinda is also well known for her involvement with many groups and events such as singing in the choir at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, member of the Pacifica Open Space Committee, organizing the annual Fourth of July founding documents reading, fundraising for The American Cancer Society through Relay for Life, organizing and singing at the annual Memorial Day celebration at the Chapel by the Sea, distributing collection boxes to local schools for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), 15 year board member of the Pacifica Historical Society, spearheading participation in the annual Fog Fest parade, fundraising for the Little Brown Church, and key participant in the Sam Mazza Castle Tours. Clorinda is predeceased by her husband, Dr. Sebastian J. Campagna (1993), and is survived by her sister Shirley Cancellieri (Saratoga, CA), cousin Mario DiLonardo (Oceanside, NY), many other cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives in the United States, Italy, and Argentina, daughter Diana Campagna (Keith Robertson), sons Victor Campagna (Jennifer), S. Giancarlo Campagna (Renée Saucedo, Carlo’s mom), Leonard Campagna (Angela), Marco Campagna (Julie), and Adamo Campagna (Amy), grandchildren Nicholas (Sophie), Ashley, Alicia, Sophia, Sebastian, Olivia, Carlo, Lexi, Gianluca, Luciano, Massimo, and Francesca, and step-grandchildren John, Joey, Will, Finn, and Campbell.
The following services will be held to honor and celebrate Clorinda’s life and legacy: Vigil at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Pacifica on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 6pm, Funeral Mass at Good Shepherd Catholic Church on Thursday, May 8 at 11am with a Reception following, and Burial at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery on Friday, May 9 at 11:30am.
